Vincent Mamaril, a bartender at Pacific Islands Club, topped the first ever Bartenders Cocktails Competition on Wednesday night with his entry called “Temptation.”
Ingrid Arellano of Hard Rock Cafe bagged the 1st runner-up award for her cocktail called “Island Seduction.”
The 2nd runner-up award went to Cesar Ramos of Aqua Resort Club. PIC’s Allan San Juan won 3rd place while Tuffer Sendon of Hard Rock was named 4th runner-up.
The other winners are:
• Ramos, Best in Originality;
• Arellano and Mamaril, Best in Showmanship; and
• Arellano, Darling of the Crowd.
The Best in Taste Cocktail was awarded to PIC with its entry “Temptation.” Hard Rock’s “Island Seduction,” PIC’s “Char-chaz” and Aqua Resort’s “Mango Zest” also won the Best in Taste award.
Thirteen bartenders from Dai-Ichi Hotel, Pacific Gardenia Hotel, Grand Hotel, Aqua Resort Club, PIC, Nikko Hotel, Hard Rock Cafe, The Jungle and Hafa Adai Hotel participated in the competition which was sponsored by the Northern Marianas Bartenders Association.
According to the association president, Lito Espino, their group is preparing more activities this year to make CNMI bartenders more competitive.
