Equal employment opportunity officers named

ACTING Personnel Management Director Juan I. Tenorio has re-appointed Frank L. Gibson, special advisor to the director of personnel, as coordinator of the commonwealth’s equal employment opportunity program.

Rosita A. Hocog, the director of personnel’s representative for Rota, and James M. Mendiola, the director of personnel’s representative for Tinian, will be the assistant coordinators for the two islands.

Tenorio said Gov. Juan N. Babauta’s directive on appointing people for the program will ensure compliance with the equal employment opportunity policy.

“(This) will affirm the commonwealth’s commitment to this principle. It is the policy of the government that the personnel system shall be applied and administered according to the principle of equal opportunity for all persons, regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, place of origin, marital status, political affiliation, belief or disability,” Tenorio said.

He advised department heads to publish the equal employment opportunity policy statement based upon the text and format of the governor’s directive.
