THE Office of the Army Reserve is giving a 75 percent subsidy to its members who want to pursue post-secondary education or obtain a master’s degree.
Northern Marianas College Director for Institutional Development Tony V. Deleon Guerrero said Army Reservists can further their studies through the Tuition Assistance Program which will be made available this year.
Ninth regional support command education specialist Marsha Wellein and deputy director of education from the office of the Army Reserve chief in Georgia, Abdul Ali, will arrive on Saipan to give a presentation on the program this Friday at the college.
The event will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the board of regents office.
According to Deleon Guerrero, this information was relayed to NMC by Public Safety Commissioner Edward Camacho who is with the Army Reserve and a former instructor at the college.
In his letter to NMC, Camacho said Army Reservists can pursue any field of study under the program.
“The information is very useful if you’re an educator, a financial assistance official, school administrator, a parent, a friend, a reservist, or a potential reserve soldier who may be interested in pursuing a college degree,” Camacho said.
