THOSE who want to end the year quickly should sign up for Run Saipan’s Run from 2023 this Sunday. The starting point is located on the sidewalk directly in front of the Commonwealth Ports Authority seaport.

Run from 2023 “is a…sanctioned event if you want to find out your fastest mile time,” Run Saipan President Edward Dela Cruz Jr. said.

This year’s one-mile course will be the permanent course for the annual event, he added. “Our course this year is finally done. I’m so happy Industrial Road is finally done. We’ve been wanting to do this course for several years now,” Dela Cruz said.

The course extends a mile south. “It is a downhill, downwind…race course…for male, female and student runners  in the Marianas,” Dela Cruz said.

There will be a total of 12 age divisions, and the top male, female and student runners will be crowned winners.

The record holders for a one-mile race on Saipan are Keith Ketola with a time of 4:45 and Tania Tan, who clocked 5:49. Both runners are not competing this year.
