JUNG Eun Teack on Sunday clinched the Saipan Golf Association’s December Ace of the Month title at the east course of the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort.
Teack shot a gross of 47 on the front nine, but improved his score on the back nine with a gross of 45 for a total gross of 92. With a handicap of 16, Teack’s net score was 76.
It was Larry Deleon Guerrero, however, who finished first with a gross of 42 on the front nine and 45 on the back nine for a gross total of 87. Aided by a handicap of 18, his net score was 69.
In second place was Nick Sablan who shot a gross of 41 on the front nine and 45 on the back for a total gross of 81. His 7 handicap gave him a net score 74.
Tied in third place with Teack was Ed Manibusan who shot a gross of 43 on the front nine and 41 on the back for a total gross of 84. With a handicap of 8, his net score was 76.
But because Deleon Guerrero, Sablan and Manibusan had already won previous ace tournaments, Teack took home the December title.
In the optional play, the closest to the pin winners were Joe I. Sablan for hole #7, Alex Tudela for hole #13, and Nick Sablan for hole #17.
The 2023 SGA Aces of the Month are Ray S. Salas (January), Das Krishnan (February), Joe I. Sablan (March), Rick Kautz (April), Nick C. Sablan (May), Tony S. Reyes (June), Larry I. Deleon Guerrero (July), Edward C. Sablan (August), Ed Manibusan (September), Mariano Fajardo (October), Tony Deleon Guerrero (November) and Jung Eun Teack (December).
The 2023 Ace of Aces is set for Dec. 17, 2023, Sunday at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort East Course. Show time is 8:30 a.m. and tee time is 9 a.m.
