Motorcyclists celebrate US Army’s birthday

RESIDENTS may have been surprised on Saturday at the sight of several motorcyclists on Harley Davidson motorcycles cruising along Guam’s major roadways.

At least 60 riders took part in a motorcycle rally commemorating the 633rd birthday of the U.S. Army.

The event, coordinated by the Guam National Guard, honored fallen soldiers and Army units that fought on Guam.

The riders included members of the Guam National Guard, the Harley Owners Group (HOG) Motorcycle Club, Veterans of Guam Motorcycle Club, and the Guam HAWGS Motorcycle Club.

The rally started at the Army Readiness Center in Barrigada. The motorcyclists then rode up to Yigo and then down to the Memorial Park in Umatac.

The convoy also drove through the Veterans Memorial Park in Piti.

The event, coordinators say, will be conducted every year.
