2 arrested on Rota for sexual abuse of minor

The two defendants were brought to the court yesterday afternoon for a bail hearing.

Associate Judge David A. Wiseman set a cash bail of $52,000 for Dali and $75,000 for Sobhan.

They were remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections after the hearing and were ordered to appear in court on June 11 for a preliminary hearing and on June 16 for their arraignment.

According to the affidavits submitted to court, a female individual went to DPS on March 12 and reported a sexual abuse incident.

The affidavit stated that the nine-year-old victim was playing with her sister and cousin on a swing on  a farm in Nov.  2007 when Dali came and offered to push the swing for the victim.

The defendant then told the sister and the cousin to continue playing.

The affidavit stated that the defendant stopped the swing and put his hand into the girl’s blouse.

The girl tried to get down from the swing but the defendant prevented her from doing so while he continued abusing her, the affidavit added.

When the girl finally managed to get down from the swing, she immediately called her sister and cousin and went back to where their grandfather was, the affidavit stated.

It added that the same victim was also abused by Sobhan.

Sobhan invited the victim and her sister and cousin to stop by at his house to get some toys, the affidavit stated.

When the girls came by the following day, the defendant called the victim and asked her to go inside his room.

When the girl went inside, the defendant touched her, according to the affidavit.
