Falcons, Rock Steady Rangers aim at SML championship

Defending champion, Falcons who routed D-Niners 15-4 in the last meet for the regular season now wait for the playoff series that will start on July 14.

The Rangers who climbed to 8-4 standing during the regular season are also assured of slot in the playoff.

The Rock Steady that won last week’s game against Tigers by forfeit claimed the victory for pennant and now among the contingents in the SML playoff series.

Rock Steady however has to face whoever wins between D-Niners and Korean Dreams in the remaining two games of the season.

The remaining game between D-Niners and Komoro that was called off early last week due to power outage was rained out on Friday.

The Komoros were leading by one run against D-Niners, 2-1 with Kim Jae Young being struck out on top of the third inning when the umpire called to stop the game due to heavy rains.

D-Niners were not able to finish the third inning.

Komoro’s Lee Ho Kyun singled and drove Kim Jae Young home to score a run. Young himself, doubled, and Kim Hyung Joo singled sending Kyun to score a run.

They went scoreless in the second inning where D-Niner’s John Acosta singled to send Chris Camacho home.

Kim Jae Young who leads the pitching department with 105 strike outs, struck out five D-Niners at-bat including Pat Alipuyo, Larry Tenorio and George Castro.

Korean Dreams and D-Niners are both vying for the fourth place before either of them can play Rock Steady in the playoff series.

Second placer, Falcons and third placer Rangers will play in the best of three, while Rock Steady will take on fourth placer team to advance to the championship game.
