Oceania officials arriving tomorrow

All the OAA leaders including officials representing each of the 21 member federation are set to arrive on June 13 and will stay at the Hyatt Regency in Garapan.

The first batch that will arrive tomorrow is led by OAA executive director Yvonne Mullins and Tahiti OAA representative, Titaua Maurin.

Rep. Ramon A. Tebuteb, chairman of the Oceania local organizing committee said the 265 athletes and other delegates from member federations will start arriving on June 20.

He said 12 of the member federations are sending the number of delegates that exceeded that of paid for by the OAA.

The OAA is shouldering the travel and accommodation expenses of eight athletes and one official from each member federation.

Australia however, is sending 38 delegates. Guam is sending 32; New Zealand, 20; Papua New Guinea, 18; Fiji, 17; French Polynesia, 13; Solomon, 13; Norfolk Islands 12; Federated States of Micronesia 12; Kiribati, 12; Cook Islands, 11 and New Caledonia 10.

The NMI Immigration and Customs, according to Tebuteb are all set to assist OAA delegates. The Department of Public Health has also put its thumbs up for the event.

Tebuteb said the local organizing committee will make sure health and safety of all the delegates are highly considered.
