FEMA obligates funds for 29 PSS projects

But Charley Kenty, associate commissioner for administrative services, said PSS is also required to come up with a 10% matching fund.

To make sure that PSS is following all the requirements, Kenty said they are working closely with the Public Assistance Office or PAO.

He added that PSS is also expecting a total of $1.8 million in FEMA reimbursements for various completed projects and labor costs.

He said PSS has been submitting required documents to PAO in order to obtain the reimbursements.

In a recent Board of Education meeting, PSS acting finance director Kimo Rosario said they have reached out to PAO and were told that its Region IX office will provide an actual estimated date of the review and approval of the request for reimbursements.

“As of today, PAO has not heard from Region IX yet. PSS will continue pressing PAO so we can receive the full $1.8 million,” Rosario told the BOE.
