“It’s just unbelievable,” club president Marcia Ayuyu said, commenting on the volume of trash they collected.
“There was so much trash in the area along the road and in between the grass and down the area near the lagoon,” she added.

“It’s really bad,” Ayuyu said, as she again urged beach users, including runners, walkers and picknickers, not to litter.
She said they collected 25 bags of trash, mostly beer cans. “It’s very sad that we have beautiful beaches but many of them are littered with trash,” she added.
The cleanup drive started at 7 a.m. and ended at 8:30 a,m. Besides Ayuyu, the other participants were Glen Perez, Greg Borja, Marvin Deleon Guerrero, Hiroko Stewart, Das Krishnan, Judy Mendieta, Joe Torres, and Jessy Loomis.
After the cleanup, the participants enjoyed coffee and banana bread, Ayuyu said.
“Please keep our island clean, trash-free and beautiful,” she added.
