Of the amount, he said $32 million is for water and wastewater assets, $22 million for power generation and transmission, and $3 million is for project development.

Camacho said the public utility also submitted a $627,855 grant proposal for power distribution efficiency improvements to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s High Energy Cost Grant Program.

He said this improvement effort includes the acquisition and installation of 96 pole mounted transformers, one boom truck, and three sets of SensorLink AmCorder with in-house installation.

CUC likewise submitted to the U.S. Department of the Interior a $35,000 federal grant proposal for the procurement and contracting of training, and another $150,000 proposal for certified employee water and wastewater training program as well as technical assistance to improve water quality and provide safe drinking water.
