He said on Saturday morning, police located and attempted to arrest the 41-year-old Guerrero at a motel in Garapan, but she scrambled down a third floor balcony before officers were able to make contact.

On Monday, Guerrero was brought before Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo who imposed a $15,000 cash bail on the defendant.

The Public Defenders’ Office was appointed to represent Guerrero while Assistant Attorney General Samantha Vickery appeared for the government.

Police said Guerrero pawned jewelry, a laptop, and other items belonging to a couple — Guerrero’s mother and her husband — in Dandan with an estimated amount of $25,000.

The couple told police that when they arrived from an off-island trip, they attempted to call Guerrero many times but “she never answered.”

Guerrero later told the couple that she stole jewelry and other items from their house and pawned them. She provided the couple copies of pawnshop receipts.

On Feb. 24, Guerrero’s mother positively identified the pieces of jewelry belonging to her after police recovered them from pawnshops and showed them to her.

Judge Govendo ordered Guerrero to return to court on March 23 at 9 a.m. for her arraignment.
