The grant aims to help at least 100 households by providing them short-term rental assistance, Karidat acting director Judith Pangelinan said.
The grant was provided to Karidat in October last year.
“Karidat, through this grant, will provide three-month rental assistance to eligible applicants in order to put them in a place where it is safe, while they are working or repairing their house,” Pangelinan said in a phone interview.
She added that an applicant must not be a recipient of the VALOR program, permanent housing assistance or other federal programs.
Pangelinan encourages individuals to call the Karidat office at 234-6981 and ask for case worker Emma Corpus who will tell them what documents are needed when applying for the rental assistance.
Pangelinan said the grant program will run for three years.
“If you were affected by Yutu and you don’t receive any federal assistance, we can help you. But this is house rental assistance only and not for repairs,” Pangelinan added.
