On May 16, 2023, in collaboration with Director Walter Manglona of the Office on Aging, the Saipan Beacon Lions Club members under the leadership of their president, Lion Mar Masilungan, served lunch to our beloved seniors at the Manamko’ Center as part of a post-Mother’s Day celebration. Blankets donated by Skymark GM Lion Daisy Sablan were also distributed to the senior citizens after lunch was served. “Our SBLC members felt glad and proud as we interacted with these amazing ‘young once’ of Saipan,” Masilungan said. “We learned that some of them were former members of a Lions Club. Some even expressed their intent to return and serve in whatever capacity they can to contribute to our Lions’ causes. There are new recruits and some are already current members of a club. This only goes to show that volunteerism is alive in our hearts and souls, no matter our age. We in SBLC are truly grateful for this opportunity to serve and be served back with smiles and beautiful stories.”
