HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — A man pleaded guilty on Tuesday to distributing methamphetamine last year.
On Tuesday in the District Court of Guam, Dominic Joshua Contreras Cruz pleaded guilty to distribution of methamphetamine hydrochloride.
Cruz was indicted in federal court earlier this year with the same charge, however, the details of his alleged conduct remained unknown aside from the fact it stemmed from an incident on Oct. 19, 2022.
The plea agreement which was made public now gives more information, however, only facts limited to supporting Cruz’s guilty plea.
The plea agreement states that last year Cruz “informed another individual that he was in possession of two ounces of methamphetamine hydrochloride.”
“Cruz indicated that he was willing to sell the methamphetamine hydrochloride to that individual for $5,000,” according to the plea agreement.
Cruz then met the individual at his residence in the Liguan Terrace area of Dededo and handed the 55.8 grams, or about two ounces, of meth, with 96% purity level, to the individual.
On Monday, Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood accepted the guilty plea and scheduled Cruz’s sentencing for Jan. 19, 2024.
