Two men charged with burglary and theft

MCPETERSON Tipingeni, also known as “MC,” and Jeffrey Lizama appeared before Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio for a bail hearing on May 8, 2023.

Both men were separately charged with burglary and theft.

At the hearing, Assistant Attorney General Heather Barcinas appeared for the government while the Public Defender’s Office represented the defendants.

Judge Kim-Tenorio imposed a $10,000 cash bail on Tipingeni, and a $20,000 cash bail on Lizama.

After the hearing, the judge remanded both defendants to the custody of the Department of Corrections. They were ordered to return to court for a preliminary hearing on May 17 at 10 a.m., and for an arraignment on May 22 at 9 a.m.

Tipingeni, 30, is accused of taking two unopened boxes of butane gas, one black bag containing various tools, and an orange SkilSaw valued at $300 from an apartment in Garapan.

Lizama, 28, is accused of taking two cellphones, binoculars, and $30 cash from another apartment in Garapan.

A surveillance camera from the apartment complex identified Lizama as the culprit.

No other information about the defendants was available as of press time Monday.
