THE first day of Gold’s Gym’s Abs & HIIT class is set for Friday, Sept. 22, at 6 p.m., according to Gold’s Gym assistant manager/certified personal trainer Gerald Galang.
The class is free for all gym members, and costs $15 for non-members. It occurs every Friday.
HIIT is High Intensity Interval Training, which, according to healthline.com, is a “broad term for workouts that involve short periods of intense exercise alternated with recovery periods.”
Galang said the class will help participants become leaner, improve posture, and increase cardiovascular and muscular endurance.
He said the class will feature “a lot” of explosive yet safe movements, as well as “challenging” abdominal exercises.
Galang said if you’re looking to highlight your midsection, he’ll be glad to show you how it’s done.
“The advantage of including High Intensity Interval Training is that you’ll be burning more fat due to the demanding nature of the exercises,” Galang said. “So while you’re building your abdominal strength you’re slowly shedding off fats which, if done safely and consistently, will definitely help showcase the six-pack you’ve been working for.”
Although the point of the class is to work out intensely, Galang said the exercises can accommodate “every fitness level.”
“If you’re new to HIIT exercises let me know beforehand,” he added
