SAIPAN International School and Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School have solidified their standings in the elementary school division of the NMIFA-PSS Interscholastic Soccer League SY 23-24 after defeating their respective opponents Monday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
SIS silenced William S. Reyes Elementary School 2, 7-0.
In the first half of the match, SIS played as the aggressor with Windsor Gross finding the back of the net after just two minutes of play. WSR 2 tightened their defense, but SIS wore them down once again, this time with Kaylen Taflinger slicing through at the 13th minute mark to extend the deficit, 2-0.
Following the halftime break, SIS kept the pressure going with Jake Duenas and Ezra West scoring back-to-back goals. Xing Chen Wang followed up with two consecutive goals while Guy Pudney added the icing on the cake with a goal scored at the 37th minute mark to end the game, 7-0.
GTC vs MCS 2
Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School bested Mount Carmel School 2, 8-4.
MCS 2 led by Thomas Flores connected three straight goals within 11 minutes for the hat-trick and the lead.
But GTC soon turned the tides. Tamjeed Ullah started the rally with two consecutive goals followed by Damian Herman and Tawheen Ullah, who scored a goal each to snatch control, 4-3.
MCS 2’s Isaiah Villavomez tried to rekindle the fire with a goal within the first minute of the second half, but GTC’s Tawheen Ullah also scored in the same minute.
MCS 2 failed to score again while Tawheen Ullah flourished with three more goals to secure the win for GTV, 8-4.
Other winners
Eucon International School joined the winner’s circle by beating Grace Christian Academy School, 3-0; Kagman Elementary School edged San Vicente Elementary School, 2-1; SVES 2 slipped past Koblerville Elementary School, 4-3; and KagES 2 overpowered Brilliant Star School 2, 10-2.
