MHS, KHS triumph in girls high school volleyball

MARIANAS High School I & II, and Kagman High School II won their opening games in the NMIVA-PSS Girls High School Volleyball League SY 23-24 on Tuesday at the Marianas High School gym. 

MHS II was the first team to bag a win as they bested Saipan International School II, 21-14, 21-15. 

MHS II pressed forward using the three-touch technique to end with strong spike finishes and grasp the lead. SIS II fought back with grit and determination, but made a handful of errors that allowed MHS II to bag the first set, 21-14. 

In the second set, SIS II inflicted damage through their overhead serves, but MHS II gradually regained momentum and finished strong to secure the second set, 21-15, and their first win of the season. 

In other games

MHS I had a tougher battle but eventually overcame Agape Christian School, 21-19, 21-15. For their part, Kagman High School II outlasted Agape Christian
