PRIORITY Care bagged their first win in the 2023 Saipan Magalahi Eagles Club Invitational Basketball League on Wednesday by defeating Socho, 64-56, at the Gilbert C. Ada gym.
It started as a fairly even match with Socho establishing control early as Juanito Sambile found his stroke in the opening quarter to score 10 points and give his team a seven-point lead.
Although Priority Care struggled to find their rhythm, the team eventually recovered thanks to the work of Steve King who scored 10 points in the second canto.
After returning from halftime, Priority Care applied pressure defense and successfully shut down Socho with King delivering three consecutive triples and adding six more points to snatch control by the end of the third quarter, 45-41.
The rest of Priority Care’s players gained confidence and joined the onslaught. Socho was forced to foul in order to stop the clock, but it was all in vain as Priority Care shot a high percentage from the charity line to remain at a safe distance en route to victory, 64-56.
