Guam Senior League player to be sent home after sneaking playing card

The tournament organizing committee declined to divulge any information about the incident.

The Department of Public Safety’s Public Information Office also can not confirm just yet, but PIO Lei Ogumoro-Uludong assured she will check the incident reports that were submitted two days ago. As of yesterday, she said she had not received any report of such incident.

Not a single employee of Saipan Grand Hotel claims any knowledge of the incident. Its human resource office and the security officer said they don’t have any idea that such a incident happened in their premises.

One of Guam’s coaching team members admitted the one of their players is being sent back home but he declined to reveal why.

Variety however learned from some witnesses that one of Guam’s Senior League players was caught on surveillance camera taking a deck of playing card inside the hotel’s gift shop at 8:44 a.m., of June 28.

The perpetrator paid for the playing after the hotel authority informed team and showed them the footage.

The Asia-Pacific Regjonal Baseball Tournament organizers were however, informed of the incident.

One of the witnesses who spoke in condition of anonymity told Variety that two young men walked in and bought two packs of Assam Black Tea.

While one of them was paying the packs of tea at the counter, the other one was caught in camera picking up one deck of playing card from the display cabinet.
