New member is RGA July Ace of the Month

From among 38 members of the RGA, 12 have to compete in the monthly ace tournament to qualify for the Annual RGA Cup in December.

Seven have already won slots, and the rest of the members now vie for the remaining five monthly aces.

Manny Mangarero who, together with Dwain Stephens had just joined the RGA last month, eked out the lowest net during last weekend’s tournament to capture the title for RGA July Ace of the Month.

Stephens settled for third place.

Mangarero and Stephens are the newest members of the RGA. They were welcomed by the RGA during the June Ace of the Month tournament.

Mangarero did not actually shot the lowest gross during the game. His 12 handicap eventually pulled his net down to 64.

He did well in the front nine firing 1-over par 36 and slid a little bit in the back with 3-over par 39.

Nick Sablan was three shots shy of Mangarero’s as he fired 1-under par 35 in the back nines but eked out a net of 66 to finished second.

Stephen shot the second highest gross of 91 coming next to Tom Tebuteb with 113 but his 24 handicap pulled his net down to 67. He fired 8-over par 44 and 11-over par 47 in the front and back nines respectively to gross 91.

Tars Olopai trailed behind them as he netted 70. He fired 4- over par 40 in the front and 6-over par 42 in the back.

Jess I. Wabol and Lou Tilipao tied in the fifth place both eking out a net of 71.

Wabol0 went 1-over par 37 in the front and improved to 1-under par 35 in the back to gross 72.   

Tilipao on the other hand, struggled through the 18 holes as he fired 6-over par 42 in the front and 7-over par in the back nines.

10-handicapper, Andy Nepaial finished with a net of 72 from a gross of 82. He sank 4-over par 40 and 6-over par 42 in the front and back nines respectively.

Asterio Tawanpiy won closest to the pin at hole No. 3 and Nick Sablan at hole No. 13.

The other RGA’s Ace of the Month are Luis Byun for January with (66); Asterio Tawanpiy for February (65); Jess Wabol for March (67);Dick Pierce for April (62); Joe Demapan for May (65) and Jordan Kosam for June (64).
