The forces that made it all happen

Belau Force organized and officiated a goodwill softball tournament, which began on July 18 and concluded on July 20.

Teams that participated in the tournament were: (masters division) Meyuns, Redmen, Ongiall, and Saipan; (open division) Ngara Bud, Ngchesar, Saipan, and Meyuns. All the teams played in a round robin tournament format.

“It was a war of the champions,” said Clint Mersai, a member of Belau Force. “The teams battled as if they were saving the world. They all deserved trophies, however, only the best were crowned.”

At the conclusion of the tournament, in the open division, Ngara Bud placed 1st, Meyuns 2nd, Saipan 3rd, and Ngchesar 4th; and in the masters division, Ongiall took 1st place, Redmen 2nd, Saipan 3rd, and Meyuns 4th.

Demei (Meyuns teams), Toribiong and Mariur (Saipan Teams); Cecilil Eldebechel (Ngchesar), Don Bukurrou (Ongiall); and Shimbros International (Ngara Bud).

According to Mersai, every member of the Belau Force is extremely appreciative of the support that the group has received in all of the tournaments it organized to date.

“We will continue to organize activities that promotes goodwill amongst, not only the citizens, but also our friends within the region,” Mersai said. “ Belau Force is thankful for being able to serve Palau in other ways.”
