The association is also reminding the teams that have already signed for the tournament to submit their final roster of players before September 14.

There will be a $500 entry fee by each team.

Teams may pay 50 percent initial payment, but they must settle the full entry fee amount before they can move on to game 3 of the tourney.

The league will pursue an open tournament wherein a mixed age of cagers can play.

Currently, there are five teams that will join in the league.

Tentative kickoff date of the tournament will be on September 28.

The league will award trophies for Best Uniform and Best Muse.

NMIVA invites membership

The Northern Mariana Islands Volleyball Association is inviting all volleyball enthusiasts to join the association and enjoy certain perks being a member.

Individual membership costs $20 annually.

Members receive regular e-mail updates and discounts on all NMIVA-sanctioned volleyball events throughout the year.

NMIVA is CNMI’s umbrella volleyball association covering all aspects of indoor and outdoor games and players.

NMIVA is a bona fide current member of Fédération Internationale de Volleyball and Northern Mariana Athletic Sports Association.

Budweiser King & Queen of the Diamonds

The Budweiser King & Queen of the Diamonds Softball Tournament is still accepting team applications.

There should be a maximum of 15 players for each team.

There will be a $150 registration fee.

Deadline for payment of fee is on September 11, Thursday.

The tournament is set on September 13 and 14 on Capital Hill Softball Field.

Teams that participated in the first and second leg of the tournament must participate in the third leg in order to qualify for the final championships.
