Solar substation in Babelaob

President Remengesau said that the solar substation will infuse electricity into the power grid.

Remengesau said this is the second part of the grant project received by Palau government using solar power in Babeldaob from the European Union CommissionThe first phase of the project was the installation of solar lighting in Babeldaob.The second phase of the project will reduce the electricity consumption by 10 to 20 percent.The president said that renewable energy assistance is being given to Palau by the European Commission.Taiwan for its part also gave Palau a grant of $2.5 million for solar lighting for the Belau National Hospital (BNH).The project will also reduce the energy consumption of the hospital by using solar power to run the institution’s water heaters.
