French embassy donates Palauan language book

Honorary Consul of France to Palau, Mandy Etpison told reporters that the books were distributed to the Belau National Museum library, Palau Community College library and the Palau Public Library.

Etpison said that the English version of the book was courtesy of the French Embassy based in the Philippines.Etpison added that the English version of the book authored Claude Hagege was translated by Margaret Dunham to English.Hagege is a classically trained fieldwork linguist who conducts research in the Cameroons, British Columbia, Micronesia and wherever languages exist that have not yet been studied.The “Palauan Language” book is a study of Palau language written in French but was translated to English courtesy Dunham.Dunham have translated several books from French to English.It was not known however, how many books were donated to the libraries.
