Beautiful Smiles with SDA Dental Clinic

Saipan Seventh-day Adventist Dental Clinic was established in 1972 and this year will mark its 51st year of service. 

 “We have been providing excellent dental care, health education and outreach programs in the CNMI,” Dr. Jocelyn Sonsona, the SDA Clinic Office Manager said. 

SDA is grateful to the community for the support they have given the clinic throughout the years, including during their most challenging times in the midst of the pandemic. 

“We appreciate our patients and community who were understanding of the extreme challenges we all had to endure the past two years with Covid-19 and lack of providers,” according to Dr. Anna Lee, the Assistant Clinic Director. 

New dentist and available services 

Dr. Lee said their team is happy to announce that they now have three full-time general dentists and three visiting specialist dentists, which will allow them to provide more services to the community. 

 “We are excited to provide faster availability of appointments, more accommodations for emergencies and walk-ins, acceptance of new patients, and a wider range of services including wisdom teeth extractions under IV sedation, re-treatment of root canals, implant surgeries, and gum and bone regeneration surgeries,” Dr. Lee said. 

“We will also be working diligently to be able to provide more frequent appointments for treatment of children under general anesthesia as well as orthodontic services,” Dr. Lee added.  

SDA Dental Clinic also has a new clinic director, Dr. Bukaris Anugerah, who has more than 30 years of experience in general dentistry – both as a private practitioner in the suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and as a missionary dentist in Central Africa, Guyana and St. Kitts. 

According to Dr. Sonsona, Dr. Anugerah is committed to providing excellent and compassionate dental care as he serves the CNMI.   

“We are honored and truly appreciate our patients and the community for trusting us to provide them honest and ethical care. Our strong 28-member team is committed to live up to and exceed the community’s expectations to continue building this trust as we look forward to improving our services for our valued patients in 2023 and forward,” Dr. Sonsona concluded.
