AFTER a series of price hikes in the last couple of months, Mobil Oil Marianas on Monday reduced its gasoline prices by 10 cents and diesel price by 15 cents.
Shell Marianas is expected to follow suit.
Mobil’s regular gas price went down to $5.31 a gallon from $5.41 a gallon; premium gas price to $5.76 a gallon from $5.86 a gallon; and diesel price to $5.58 a gallon from $5.73 a gallon.
As of close of business Monday, Tinian Fuel Services had yet to implement the gas price rollback. Its regular gas price was still $7.19 a gallon and its diesel price remained $7.64 a gallon.
On Rota, Calvo Enterprises’ gas price was still $6.89 a gallon and diesel price, $9.67 a gallon.
Andrew Estepa, a waiter on Saipan, said it’s good news that gas prices are down. He said he spends $50 every payday for gas.
“I hope that gas prices will continue to go down this time instead of going up again,” Estepa said.
According to CNBC, “Oil prices fell Monday as concerns about rising interest rates, the global economy and the outlook for fuel demand outweighed support from the prospect of tighter supplies on OPEC+ supply cuts.”
