THE Natives bagged their second consecutive win in the Tan Holdings Saipan Baseball League by putting down the Brewers, 7-3, on Wednesday at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.
The Natives played with care as they took advantage of the Brewers’ errors in the opening inning.
The Natives’ first two at bat, Cameron Towai and Perry Celis, rounded the bases thanks to a stolen base and Keoni Lizama’s RBI single to seize the lead, 2-0.
The Brewers’ Diego Camacho then connected a single to bring in Franco Nakamura for an RBI to close the gap.
Both teams failed to score in the next two innings, but in the top of the fourth, the Brewers lost their touch on the defensive end and allowed the bases to fill up.
Then then allowed three runs to slip by through errors and a RBI single by Darion Jones as the Natives widened their lead, 6-1.
The Brewers continued to put up a fight with one run in the bottom of the fourth and another in the sixth inning, but the Natives scored again in the top of the seventh to seal the deal, 7-3.
