YOUNG swimmers participated in the short distance race of the Tan Holdings 50th Anniversary Ocean Swim at the Guma Sakman on Saturday.
In the male division of the U8 50m event, Leo Li claimed first place with a time of 56.07 followed by Taewon Park in second place at 01:06.79 and Shuro Barman in third at 01:07.41.
The rest of the top five were Reide Benson, 01:10.33; and Yubo Lin, 01:12.07.
In the female division, Aileen Kim was number one with a time of 55:84. Yoonmin Cho came in second at 01:10.55 and Fiona Yu was third at 01:11.74. Finishing fourth and fifth were Andrea Ryu, 01:15.11; and Lucy Shin, 01:15.46.
100m race
Taking the spotlight in the 100m race were Simon Shindo and Gwen Retardo.
Shindo claimed the male division with a time of 01:42.07 followed by Xingchen Wang who clocked 01:47.65, and Gabriel Cariaso at 01:58.42.
In the female division, Gwen Retardo dominated the course with a finish time of 01:51.80 while Eva Shin followed behind in second place with a time of 02:04.59. Olivia Walsh came in third at 02:14.53.
500m race
In the mid-distance 500m race, Richard Zhao and Sera Guerrero clinched the top spots.
Zhao dominated the male division with a time of 07:44.00 with Haoyang Song finishing second at 09:43.36 and Jireh Wang coming in third at 10:21.91.
In the female division, Sera Guerrero clinched first place with a time of 09:59.81 edging Shana Barman who clocked 10:00.32. In third place was Mia Camacho with a time of 11:50.90.
50 and over category
In the 500m race of the 50 and over category, Vince Seman completed the event with a time of 12:15.45.
Robert Coates also had a solo finish in the 1000m with a time of 24:31.66.
In the 1500m distance, Gary De Guzman claimed first place with a time of 28:22.94 followed by Valrick Wlech in second who clocked 33:53.49. In third and fourth places were Boboy Aguilar, 37:33.36; and Manny Sitchon, 40:55.74.
In the female division, Yulia Aleksenko completed the race with a time of 33:33.03.
