SIS blanks Chacha, FMS beats DMS

SAIPAN International School shut down Chacha Oceanview Middle School, 14-0, in the Girls Middle School Division of the IT&E Interscholastic Basketball League Friday at the Marianas High School gym.

The SIS Geckos were simply superior in every aspect on the game as they denied Chacha any chance of putting up a shot while SIS’ Aubrey White kept her team’s scoring momentum burning.

In each successful stop, White took advantage with quick offensive transitions to catch Chacha off guard, scoring the first seven points for SIS while team mate Reagan Gonzales added a bucket before the end of the first half for a comfortable 9-0 lead.

In the second half, Gonzales and Keylie Claveria led the SIS assault en route to a blowout victory, 14-0.

FMS vs DMS

Francisco M. Sablan Middle School continued their winning streak by outplaying Dandan Middle School, 16-7.

It was an even match at first as neither team could gain control. Mainly, it was a battle between FMS’ Rosie Saralu and DMS’ Shaenna Yamada as they lit up the scoreboard.

Saralu scored eight  points while Yamada delivered seven. However, she fell into foul trouble and had to sit out the remainder of the second half.

With Yamada out of the picture, DMS could no longer find the bottom of the net while FMS’ Saralu added six more points to secure the win, 16-7.
