Soudelor Construction, Kabalen tied for 2nd place in SBA Thursday Division

THE spot for second place in the Thursday Division of the SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball League is shared by Bamboo Soudelor Construction and Kabalen with 86 wins each following their victories Thursday.

Against SCS Just Chillin’, Bamboo Kabalen had to stage a rally to slip away with the win, 7-6.

In the opening Singles 8-Ball game, Just Chillin’ shined individually with Toto Bigcas, Ken Chen and Bryan Fabre on the highlight reel for a 3-1 lead.

Although Just Chillin’ prolonged their control with a split in the Partners 8-Ball game, Kabalen managed to shake off the jitters in the second Singles 8-Ball game. Jerry Soriano led the assault as he cleared the table in just one turn after the break for the “Run the Rack” highlight while Robert Sanciangco, Albert Pangilinan, and Jesse Guerra rode the momentum for four consecutive wins to seize the lead, 6-4.

Just Chillin’ still had a chance to bounce back but they were only able to split the Partners 8-Ball game. They also won the final game of the night, but it wasn’t enough to overtake Kabale which won 7-6.

Other matches

Bamboo Soudelor Construction had a much easier night as they outscored the 9 Eleven Crazy Ballers, 10-3.

Despite the Crazy Ballers winning the first round of the opening Singles 8-Ball game, they were quickly left behind as Soudelor gathered seven consecutive wins before their opponents could stop the bleeding.

The Crazy Ballers only snagged one more win before bowing down to Soudelor, 3-10.

Adding a win to their column as well were the top ranking 9 Eleven Rebels 2 who beat the VFW No Regrets, 9-4; and the VFW IT&E Homeboyz who tamed the Last Shot Eleven Tiger, 9-4.
