Kiya 4 covers Chalan Kiya, San Jose, Oleai, Susupe, and Chalan Kanoa districts 1, 2 and 4.
Gary P. Camacho, CUC power division manager, said this scheduled outage is required to conduct a repair of the protective devise of the supervisory control and data acquisition system.
He said the power outage will start from 8 a.m. and end at 9 a.m..
“This temporary interruption is necessary to allow CUC power division personnel to work on the Chalan Kiya substation switchgear safely and efficiently,” he said in a press statement.
The repair of the system, he added, will reduce the restoration process of future power interruptions required for systems maintenance.
Camacho said they apologize for any inconvenience the load-shedding schedule has imposed on the community and will continue to work diligently to resolve the problem.
