CUC cleans poles of Feeders 4, 7

The CUC task force, in coordination with the Department of Public Works, continues to identify other “hot spots” that need immediate response, he said.

Feeder 4 covers a potion of Lower Base, Sadog Tasi, Capital Hill, Kagman and portions of Papago, including the Botanical Garden, while Feeder 7 covers the Lower Base industrial area, north to Tanapag, Achugao, San Roque, As Matuis and Marpi.

The cleanup operation started over the past weeks and CUC will cover other areas of the island to address the requests by its customers, Camacho said.

During pole cleaning, all dead, diseased and dying limbs and foliage from a height of 8 ft. to the power conductor will be removed.

At the ground level, flammable materials within a 10-ft. radius around the pole will be cleared, while from the ground level to 8 ft. to the conductor, all brush limbs and foliage of living trees within a 10-ft. radius around the pole will be removed.

After the pole cleaning operation, Camacho said there have been no occurrences of power outages cause by a direct contact of trees to power lines.
