Four have applied for the position but only two are qualified, according to CPA.
The board wants to have more applicants and has re-announced the vacancy for two more weeks.
CPA Executive Director Efrain F. Camacho yesterday said they need to fill the position to help address the agency’s bond indenture problems.
“What I told the board is that their decision to hire a comptroller is the right decision for CPA…and the earlier, the better,” he said.
He’s hoping that the board will reach a decision today.
“The assurance was that…the board will look at it very carefully and may come to a decision on what is to be done,” Camacho said.
