New clinic to rise in Airai

Air Force Civic Action Team (AFCAT) 09-05 is undertaking the construction of the new clinic which is expected to be completed in April.

The construction of the 1,240 square foot Airai clinic commenced in November and  is located near the  Ked Center.The estimate cost of the clinic is $93,000 with the team and their Palauan apprentices providing free labor.CAT Officer-in-charge Chris Bulson said that “the construction is teaching the apprentices to build the clinic from ground up.”It will also bring health care needs closer to the people in AiraiBulson added that the clinic is now 35 percent complete.Palau crew leader TSgt. Randy Bray said that the new clinic will house a small pharmacy and laboratory.The edifice is a one-storey building funded by the U.S. government.Bulson said the project was requested by the Airai State and is the biggest project so far of his team.
