OPINION | Choosing Sides — Dilettantes or the People Party?

PEOPLE are always asking “which side are you on” but Rev. Al Sharpton posed the real question which is “not about choosing a side, but ASKING who is on YOUR-Side,” the Dilettantes or the People’s Party?  WE the People are living under a “Constitutional Democracy” that is designed to “keep ALL people, including elected officials, from doing what they want” as we must ALL follow the Laws and no-one is above the Law. WE the People have “Full Faith & Confidence” in our Constitution and it’s intent but when WE see a Governor literally making a “MOCKERY” of our Constitution and the People-for-which-it-Stands then it should be over for them.

I’m sure almost EVERY adult was taught “when you are caught Red-Handed doing wrong, you FESS-Up” or “it’s time to come to Jesus and man-up,” as we say in my culture — yes my critics, I have a culture too!   But this Governor has yet to EVER say — “I didn’t do it,” which is what truly innocent people say but he thinks WE are stupid. This Governor wants to drag all of us (Legislature, Courts and the People) and his family through HIS-Futile-Battles of accusing the JGO and even OUR Constitution of being wrong but it will all lead to JAIL! The Governor is NOT on YOUR-Side Voters, so CHOOSE Well from the People’s Party whom you Already-TRUST, it’s just that simple of a fix!

Our Constitution is what we have been teaching children in schools for over two-hundred years — duh! But it’s clear we have some leaders who didn’t pay attention in Government Classes or they wouldn’t be displaying such awful behavior. Just imagine if I taught children, they could have a trial without a prosecutor and no evidence, the principal & parents would want me kicked out of the classroom — for REAL!  It should be clear some Senators are not on the side of our Constitution nor the people, especially the Tinian Senators who acquitted the Governor and even voted for the Saipan Casino knowing it would kill the Tinian Dynasty — wake-up Tinian!   Our children are watching these awful examples of leadership in our Constitutional Democracy that MUST be rectified or WE are DOOMED to experience it again.

Kudos to Rep. Celina Babauta, as she WARNED and so did I of the “Pink-slips that Government Employees would get from the Governor for not being Loyalists,” which really helped the Democrats as there were TWO Democrats elected in the Legislature as a direct result of suffering his Pink-Slip Revenge. It’s really common knowledge the Governor is really following the old & ugly Republican practice of “firing non-loyalists” that has been going on for over two decades. But the real question is “WHAT are the People going to do about it”!  These Pink-slips should tell EVERY Government Employee and every voter that it’s time to vote FOR the People who are on YOUR-Side who will HONOR your Political Choices without retaliation. WE the People must “Stop and Fix” this ugly Pink-Slip practice by hiring NEW & BETTER people for our Executive Officers and in the Legislature. Vote for those “on your side” on Judgment Day!

The Governor doesn’t even know HOW to honor ALL of our Athletes, as each one should have been given a 3 to 500 dollars as a Honorarium for Representing the CNMI and THEN if they win a medal they will get an additional amount. WE the People love ALL of our Athletes not just the winners Governor — HELLER!!!  I don’t know WHO is doing the thinking and advising but this deal of overlooking other athletes just PROVES the Governor nor his administration “knows nor understand equity and/or equality,” especially when dealing with youth & teams. One of the FIRST things my MaDear told me when our Dinga (twins) were born was “whatever you do for one, you better do for the other” and that’s how it should be when recognizing a group or team that is representing a school and even the CNMI. Equity among students is also part of a teacher’s Child Psychology Course-work. But the only side the Governor mentioned and wanted to be on was the winners, which tells me he was not on the side of the majority who did not win a medal even though they put in just as mush dedication & work as the winners — SHAME on you Governor acting like a Dilettante! So, when choosing-sides to vote, make darn SURE you are voting for professionals like Tina & Leila who was a principal and understands the importance of “child-equity” as they will be ON-YOUR-SIDE, the Democrats!  WE voted ourselves into this mess electing Dilettantes & Criminals and WE can vote ourselves out by electing real honorable professionals — it’s really that simple!
