Esther Muna, the department’s financial services administrator, said of the hundreds of procedures listed in the current procedural terminology, not all of them are used by CHC.
She said there are medical procedures not included in the last publication of schedules of fee “so it is necessary to add fees to the current fee schedule.”
Last month, Gov. Benigno R. Fitial concurred the department’s adoption of emergency regulations that amended the schedule of fees charged by the Commonwealth Health Center.
In a notice he submitted to the governor, Public Health Secretary Joseph Kevin Villagomez said public interest requires that the emergency rules take effect immediately.
The emergency rules are for 120 days only, and took effect upon the filing of notice with the governor’s office.
Villagomez said CHC included in the schedules fees the services and procedures which physicians find necessary for patient care.
