Guam center chooses executive director from FSM

Rudolph  is attending the University of Guam as a graduate student.

Mori responded favorably to the request by stating, “I am gratified that [an FSM] citizen is in a position to help the center, which has done a great deal for many of our people on Guam, in finding employment opportunities and obtaining the social services that they are eligible for under the amended Compact of Free Association.”

The Guam-based Center for Micronesian Empowerment is at a critical juncture in its development.

The organization is dedicated to the teaching and training of immigrants from the Freely Associated States to find employment and obtain the social services they require and are eligible for as citizens of the FSM, the Republic of Palau, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

On Jan. 20, 2009, while laying over on Guam after attending Palau’s inaugural ceremonies, Mori presented Monty McDowell, executive director of Advance Management Inc. and vice chairman of CME, with a certificate of recognition for his contributions to the Micronesian community on Guam.

In a previous letter to McDowell, Mori wrote of his thanks “for the tremendous assistance you have provided over these many years to our citizens who have made Guam their second home.”
