Toribiong , Friday met with JICA Resident representative Noda Makota and his delegation and that the group will be working closely with the Office of the Environmental Response Coordination and Palau Public Utilities Corporation Energy Office.
Palau recently joined the “Cool Earth partnership” program with Japan which addresses climate change issues and its aim is to achieve both emission reductions of greenhouse gas and economic growth in compatible way.Due to the partnership, JICA will launch the program between Palau and Japan.“Palau and Japan have a strong historical relationship and is also deeply rooted in our Continental Shelf which connects Palau and Japan. Let us know if there is any further assistance you may need. Japan is a good friend of Palau and we appreciate its support with this important partnership,” Makota said.
