Leland Naruo appeared for a bail hearing on March 30 and waived reading of the information and denied his charge.
He was also released from custody and was ordered not to communicate with the victim.His next hearing is set for May 29 at 10 am.Naruo was charged on March 26 for assaulting the victim with a machete on February 17.A police affidavit stated that the victim came to the Bureau of Public Safety on February 17 and reported that he was assaulted by Naruo.The affidavit stated that the victim had gone to his wife’s residence to deliver some messages from their children who live in the US.The affidavit stated that when the victim arrived to his wife’s residence, the defendant approached him and threatened to kill him with a machete if he will not leave the area.The affidavit stated that the victim left the premises and proceeded to the police station to report the incident.
