Gov. Benigno R. Fitial said the former finance secretary’s financial expertise is an asset to his administration given the islands’ continuing economic crunch.
He issued a memorandum advising different departments and agencies that Inos will be in-charge of overseeing the Office of Management and Budget, the Departments of Finance and Commerce.
“By way of this memorandum, I hereby delegate all duties and responsibilities relating to government finances to Lt. Governor Inos,” wrote the governor.
Inos was also assigned to oversee stimulus funded projects in the CNMI.
“The lt. governor will also be tasked with overseeing the efforts of our government agencies in complying with and implementing projects pursuant to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act,” he said.
“All other duties and responsibilities previously delegated to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor are henceforth shared by me and the lieutenant governor,” he added.
