Woman arrested for hitting husband, son with stick

Department of Public Safety acting spokesman Jason T. Tarkong said police responded to a call reporting a domestic incident in Kagman III at 9:28 a.m. on June 23.

The responding police officers learned that the 40-year-old husband of the suspect was about to go fishing at 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning when the suspect stopped him.

Later that day, the husband and the couple’s 16-year-old son were working on a construction project outside their house when an argument ensued between the couple.

The suspect then started throwing items onto the kitchen floor.

She later grabbed a saw and struck her husband several times on his left arm, police said.

The victim tried to walk away but the suspect prevented him from doing so.

The suspect then picked up a tangan-tangan stick and struck her husband several times in the body, police said.

Tarkong said the suspect’s husband sustained minor cuts and abrasions on his left arm and back area.

He was treated by medics but he refused to be transported to the hospital for further treatment.

Crime scene technicians arrived at the area and processed the scene for evidence.

Tarkong said the suspect also stuck her son with the tangan-tangan stick when he tried to interfere and stop his mother from assaulting his father.

The suspect’s son was able to block her attacks and sustained no injuries.

The suspect was arrested at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday for charges of disturbing the peace and assault with a dangerous weapon.

She was transported to the Department of Corrections for booking and detention.
