Wiseman set the preliminary hearing for June 10 at 9 a.m. and the arraignment for June 15, 2009 at 9 a.m.
In his affidavit, Tinian Police Officer Barbara K. Arend said at about 7:20 p.m. on June 1, a woman went to the DPS station to ask for assistance.
The victim, who works at King’s Club on Tinian, said she was already tired of fighting with the defendant so she packed her clothes and left them outside her room to find another place to stay.
She said when she came back, her things were gone.
When she entered her room, she said the defendant was holding a knife and threatened her with it. She said she ran.
She told police that she was beaten up so many times in the past.
After once such beating, she said her face was so swollen she had to close the bar until her wounds healed.
She also told police the defendant wounded her right thigh and foot with a knife. Her attempts to call the police failed because she said the defendant took her phone away.
The Division of Immigration office on Tinian said the defendant is an overstaying alien.
