The film festival will go on until June 7 to be held at the Palau Community College Cafeteria.
The film festival consists of showing of films featuring eight country members of the European Union and is being hosted by the Embassy of the Czech Republic.The current presidency of the EU is held by the Czech Republic.Since the Czech Republic’s presidency of the EU will expire at the end of June, Czech Ambassador to Palau J. Ludva has decided to hold a film festival.Participating in the film festival are Germany, Finland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Italy, France and Spain.Monika Kadzova, Third Secretary and Consul of the Czech Republic in Manila has been working with Dwight Alexander of the Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs to organize the festival with the assistance from the Ministry of State and its protocol officer Danny Higa.The film festival will showcase different film each night and will feature selected movies produced by each of the country represented.Films selected with humor and culture in mind to promote education, cultural exchange, and goodwill between Palau countries in the European Union.Ladva and Finnish Ambassador Heiki Hennikainen officially opened the festival.
