With a score of 25 – 16 in conclusion of the first set, Dilbuil and the crew of Team Bungi’i opened the match on a strong note, as they pounded Team Kalauerz with their powerful middle hits and couple of aced serves in which their competitors’ defense could not recover from. On the other hand, the second set created a different story as Team Angaur was able to put up a superb defense to even out the sets, 1 – 1. Despite the fact that the ladies from Angaur continued on their strong defensive stance in which all kills of their challenger have been answered with great digs and served 10 aces in the third set of the title match, Bungi’i was able to redeem themselves at the last stages of the set to win. Bungi’i finally turned the lights off on their competitor in the fourth set as they went back to their solid game that earned them an unbeaten record for the entire tournament to become this year’s PVF Women’s Champs while Team Angaur settles for second place.
At the end of the title match, PVF arranged an awarding ceremony to recognize the winners of both men and women teams that participated in this year’s tournament in which Secretary General of PNOC Baklai Temengil and member of Board of Directors of ONOC Dr. Caleb Otto graced the occasion.Team Islanders led by Sorella Smau and sponsored by Pelelui State Government came in third place after beating Vanessa Salii’s Team Barbies who got fourth place in the consolation match. Finals most valuable player (MVP) was awarded Aquilla Asanuma who is the setter for the champion team, Team Bungi’i. For the Men’s, Ranchers grabbed first place, Team Koror gets second while KY Angels and Team Penthouse settled for third and fourth on that order. Kinsley Ngirmidol of team Ranchers was awarded with men’s MVP.
