Tanapag school promotes 23 students

School principal Francisca Ulloa  said they wanted to hold the ceremony on Monday, June 15, but were informed on Thursday night that the designated last day for public schools was Friday.

Ulloa said they had to inform all the parents about the change of schedule.

“We went house-to house since most of them live just around the village. Everybody came,” she said.

Acting Associate Commissioner for Administrative Services Tim Thornburgh led the presentation of awards during the ceremony.

Dimitrios Joseph Camacho received the Commissioner’s Award while Maria Theresa Dela Rosa Dizon got the second highest honor, the Principal’s Award.

Camacho was also the recipient of the subject awards for excellence in mathematics and science.

The rest of the top five: Rufina Fidela Flores Olupumar, Preschanel Vionicia Igitol, Devin Florencio Q. Noisom and Isabelle Nicole T. Edgar.

Ulloa said there was a tie among the two students.

Derel Jonathan Kotomor Naog was awarded for his exemplary academic performance in the arts; Daivian Kumuch for music and Carolinian bilingual; Amber Eve Segian Cabrera, Chamorro bilingual; Joseph Jr. Lieto Lifoifoi and Darla Sulap, for physical education; and Dela Rosa Dizon, for language arts and social studies.

Isabella Nicole T. Edgar was the honorable mention.

Four received the Leadership Award: Rufina Fidela Flores Olupomar, Joseph Jr. Lieto Lifoifoi, Lou Frances M. Pua, and Kris Butters.

In her brief message, Ulloa said she hopes the students will succeed in all their undertakings.

“We congratulate you for a job well them. We love you .”

The other newly promoted students: Sharon R. Cudiamat, Meredith Thersa R. Iderbei, Miskonita Ilon, Casandra T. Jose, Adrian Jand N. Ngalongalo, Alma Denise M. Ngiraibuuch, Iam Joseph Norita, James Arthur L. Phillips, Rowie Quirez, Esteana A. Rios, Herber Juna A. San Nicolas and Monica Leslie Sipia.
