261 new Covid-19 cases

(Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.) — 261 additional individuals have been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 5,575 cases since March 26, 2020, CHCC reported Thursday evening. The individuals have been isolated and are actively monitored.

Of the 261 cases which were identified on Feb. 2, 2022:

172 were identified via contact tracing, 76 via community testing, and 13 via travel testing.

Five were identified on Tinian, and four on Rota.

As of Feb. 3, 2022, there were 10 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19:

Five were unvaccinated, four vaccinated, and one partially vaccinated.

Two had been discharged.

A total of 106 Covid-19 vaccines were administered on Feb. 3, 2022, resulting in 99.4% of the CNMI’s eligible population being fully vaccinated.

The vaccination statuses of the 261 new cases identified are pending verification.

A total of 1,185 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Feb. 2, 2022:

605 via community-based testing;

398 at the Covid-19 Community Center (referrals only);

85 at Tinian Health Center; and

97 at the Rota Health Center.

Of the total cases identified, as of Feb. 2, 2022, there had been 4,245 recoveries  and 1,307 active cases.

2,693 of the cases were identified via contact tracing; 2,289 community testing; and 593 travel testing.

There have been 23 Covid-19-related deaths since March 2020.
