3 hospitalizations; 55 new Covid-19 cases

(Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.) — As of March 18, 2022, there were three individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19:  one was unvaccinated, and two were fully vaccinated.

CHCC also reported on Friday evening that 55 additional individuals had been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 10,689 cases since March 28, 2020.

Of the 55 cases:

54 were identified on March 17, 2022, and one prior to March 17, 2022.

Five were identified on Tinian on March 17, 2022.

A total of 84 Covid-19 vaccine shots were administered on March 18, 2022. Of the eligible population, 58.8% have received an additional dose. The vaccination rate is calculated using the 2020 Census population estimates for the CNMI and includes the eligible 5-year-olds and older population. A correction has been made.

The vaccination statuses of the 55 new cases identified are pending verification.

A total of 328 Covid-19 tests were conducted on March 17, 2022:

231 via Community-Based Testing;

7 at Koblerville Covid-19 Community Center;

11 at Tinian Health Center; and

79 at Rota Health Center.

Of the total cases identified, as of March 17, 2022, there were 10,412 recoveries and 246 active cases.

Of the cases, 9,927 were identified via community testing and 762 through travel testing.

Since March 2020, there have been 31 Covid-19-related deaths.
